1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using Reader Guild ("the Service", "we", "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. The service

Reader Guild is a platform that connects authors with Alpha and Beta readers. Authors create campaigns for their manuscripts. Readers apply to campaigns and, if approved, receive the manuscript and provide feedback.

3. Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password secure.
  • You may not share your account with others or create multiple accounts.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Reader responsibilities

  • Only apply to campaigns you genuinely intend to read and provide feedback on.
  • Treat manuscripts as confidential. Do not share, reproduce, or distribute them.
  • Provide honest, constructive feedback within the agreed timeframe.

5. Author responsibilities

  • You must own or have the rights to share any manuscript you upload or share via the platform.
  • Campaign descriptions must be accurate and not misleading.
  • You are responsible for communicating directly with approved readers and sharing the manuscript.
  • Do not use reader information for purposes outside the scope of your campaign.

6. Content

You retain ownership of content you submit (manuscripts, bios, campaign descriptions). By submitting content, you grant Reader Guild a limited licence to display it on the platform for the purpose of operating the Service.

You may not submit content that is illegal, harassing, or infringes on the rights of others.

7. Limitation of liability

Reader Guild is provided "as is". We are not liable for the actions of users, the quality of manuscripts or feedback exchanged, or any losses arising from use of the platform. We are a connection service — the relationship between authors and readers is between those parties directly.

8. Changes to terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll update the date above when we do. Continued use of Reader Guild after changes means you accept the updated terms.
