Reader Guild ("we", "our", "us") operates the website at readerguild.com. We connect authors with readers for Alpha and Beta reading purposes.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly to us:

• Account information: name, email address, and password (stored hashed)
• Profile information: bio, genre preferences, reader type, and similar profile details
• Campaign information: book titles, descriptions, and campaign settings (authors)
• Application messages you write when applying to campaigns (readers)

We also collect limited technical data automatically:

• Session tokens for keeping you logged in
• Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited)

3. How we use your information

• To operate and provide the Reader Guild service
• To send transactional emails (application notifications, approvals, password resets)
• To allow authors to see reader profiles when reviewing applications
• To improve the platform based on usage patterns

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Information sharing

When a reader is approved for a campaign, their name and email address become visible to the author so they can send the manuscript. This is a core part of how the service works. By applying to a campaign, you consent to this disclosure upon approval.

We use the following third-party services to operate Reader Guild:

• Resend — for sending transactional emails

5. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing hello@readerguild.com.

6. Security

Passwords are stored using bcrypt hashing. We use secure HTTPS connections. We take reasonable steps to protect your data, but no system is completely secure.

7. Your rights

You may access, update, or delete your profile information at any time from your dashboard. For account deletion or data export requests, contact us at hello@readerguild.com.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Reader Guild after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
